UPDATE: Ben Nelson has joined a whole host of others who have sold their vote against the wishes of those who elected them.  If you’re for the “government option” for health care, he’s sold you out.  If you’re against government intrusion in our health care system, he’s sold you out.  It’s time to not reelect [...]

Thanksgiving Reflections

The post below is attributed to Senator Bob Bennett, Utah – R.  It was forwarded to us and we have posted it post Thanksgiving.   If the source isn’t correct, we are happy to correct it. I was reminded recently of an experience I had several years ago which I wrote about for the Ogden Standard [...]

Olympia Snow

Olympia Snow

UPDATE – 10/13/09 : Olympia Snow breaks ranks and votes the Backus health care reform bill out of committee. Clearly, she’s not only out of step with her party, but the majority of the US population and most likely her own constituents.

Last week (Feb. 13, 2009), three republican senators broke with their party and “negotiated” with the democrats to help pass the massive $800,000,000,000 “stimulus” package. For their courage we present their names for you to not re-elect. Three term republican Senator Olympia Snow was one of them.

Congressional Outsourcing

It used to be that members of congress carefully, painstakingly and diligently crafted legislation. They would meet together in smoke filled back rooms and cut deals, but they were the ones that actually did the work. Not any more.

Roland Burris

July 13, 2009 – UPDATE: Roland Burris has announced he will not run for reelection. This is great news! Hopefully, he’ll go back to private life and find success there… Roland Burris wasn’t elected, so technically, he can’t be reelected to his Illinois senate seat. He was appointed by impeached Rod Blogovich to fill President Barack Obama’s vacant seat.

John Ensign

There are lots of reasons to vote against John Ensign, primarily that he can’t keep his personal promises. But the greatest argument against him is that he is was on track to become a serial politician. He was a congressman prior to being elected to the Senate and I’m sure he had greater ambitions, even if he’s a veterinarian.

Al Franken

Al Franken is Minnesota’s newest Senator. The Minnesota Supreme Court reject incumbent Norm Coleman’s challenge to the vote count and declared Al Franken the winner. This mean’s it’s time to get started.

Tom Coburn

Senator Dr. Coburn also has been diagnosed by TfTL with early stages of serial legislator. He served as a member of the House of Representatives for three terms prior to being elected to the Senate. We’re hoping to cure him in 2010 of this terminal disease (not terminal for him, but for the country).
