34 is the magic number. Forget 216. Forget 60. Think 34.

2010 Battle Cry – Repeal 2009!

December 19, 2009 by Patrick Henry · Leave a Comment

With the news today that it appears Harry Reid has his 60 votes to pass a massive unconstitutional health care reform bill it’s time to get to work.
We may not be able to stop it.  It’s likely that we’re not going to stop it.  But it doesn’t mean we don’t make our best effort to [...]

The Case for Term Limits – Bad Legislation

The Case for Term Limits – Bad Legislation

The Case for Term Limits was bolstered by the revelation this week that much of the data used to show the effectiveness of the stimulus package was faked.  “Jobs created or saved” were “created” in districts that don’t exist.
First, those responsible should be fired.  Anyone caught making up data should be fired for either being [...]

Today we’re going to divert from our usual anti-incumbent pro-voter driven term limit theme and discuss health care.  There seems to be a disconnect between the polls and the politicians.  Nothing new here…the politicians are doing what they want to do.  Of course, we use this as a reason to vote them out.  It’s not [...]

The Founding Fathers knew what they were doing and created a fantastic system. It is our arrogance, or more to the point, the arrogance of our elected officials that think they have a better system.

Vindication!

August 31, 2009 by Patrick Henry · Leave a Comment

Today a Rasmussen Reports poll came out stating that 57% of the people surveyed stated they would prefer to throw out ALL of the members of Congress and start over. At TfTL we’re more surprised that this number is down 2% from last October when the so called “stimulus” bill was passed.

Congressional Outsourcing

August 20, 2009 by Patrick Henry · Leave a Comment

It used to be that members of congress carefully, painstakingly and diligently crafted legislation. They would meet together in smoke filled back rooms and cut deals, but they were the ones that actually did the work. Not any more.
