John Dingell, has been in the House of Representatives since 1955 and is its longest serving member. He’s one of the more liberal representatives. But it’s his longevity that really makes him a stand out. 27 terms–longer than the intrepid Senator Robert Byrd.

34 is the magic number. Forget 216. Forget 60. Think 34.

UPDATE: Ben Nelson has joined a whole host of others who have sold their vote against the wishes of those who elected them.  If you’re for the “government option” for health care, he’s sold you out.  If you’re against government intrusion in our health care system, he’s sold you out.  It’s time to not reelect [...]

Thanksgiving Reflections

The post below is attributed to Senator Bob Bennett, Utah – R.  It was forwarded to us and we have posted it post Thanksgiving.   If the source isn’t correct, we are happy to correct it.

New Jersey Term Limit Victory

New Jersey Term Limit Victory

We salute the citizens of New Jersey for doing the right thing and term limiting Governor Jon Corzine from another term in office.  Corzine had been the CEO of Goldman Sachs and has ties to Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson.  Unpopular from the beginning, he’s fought an uphill battle to win the hearts of the citizens [...]

Olympia Snow

Olympia Snow

UPDATE – 10/13/09 : Olympia Snow breaks ranks and votes the Backus health care reform bill out of committee. Clearly, she’s not only out of step with her party, but the majority of the US population and most likely her own constituents.

Last week (Feb. 13, 2009), three republican senators broke with their party and “negotiated” with the democrats to help pass the massive $800,000,000,000 “stimulus” package. For their courage we present their names for you to not re-elect. Three term republican Senator Olympia Snow was one of them.

The health care town hall meetings have provided lots of fodder for those who are concerned about their representatives. New York Congressman Eric Massa has added to the pile with his on camera admission that he would vote against the interests of the voters in his district.

Nothing gets up the ire of a congressman more than being challenged on their positions. I’ve personally seen this when I’ve sent letters to my representatives. Watch this video of Congressman David Scott not being able to deal with being challenged.
