Richard “Dick” Shelby

Dick Shelby was the first democrat to win the Alabama senate seat since Reconstruction. In 1994 he switched sides to become a republican. The one thing, though is that he’s spent over 22 years in the Senate. Before that his paycheck came from taxpayers. Most his adult life has been paid for by you and me.

Robert Anderholt is a relatively new member of congress serving Alabama’s 4th congressional district. Like many of his congressional colleagues, he is an attorney by trade. Of course, we wish him no ill will. It’s just time for somebody new.
