John Dingell
John Dingell, has been in the House of Representatives since 1955 and is its longest serving member. He’s one of the more liberal representatives. But it’s his longevity that really makes him a stand out. 27 terms–longer than the intrepid Senator Robert Byrd.

This 77 year old congressman has been there more than half his life. He’s made a career out of elected office, not being an attorney. Frankly, we think we have too many attorneys as it is, but we have far too many career politicians, too. It’s time for this one to go.

Michigan has the honor of having the two longest serving House members. John Conyers has bee there for 22 terms. Like his colleague, John Dingle, he’s one of the more liberal representatives, even more so.

Debbie Stabenow is the first in our list of federal office holders that should not be re-elected. She was chosen because of her efforts to infringe on our first amendment right of free political speech by bringing back the misnamed “fairness doctrine.”
