August 17, 2009 by Patrick Henry · Leave a Comment

The health care town hall meetings have provided lots of fodder for those who are concerned about their representatives. New York Congressman Eric Massa has added to the pile with his on camera admission that he would vote against the interests of the voters in his district.

John McHugh

This post for John McHugh may not be needed for very long, as he was nominated to the Secretary of the Army by President Barack Obama. But, since he’s still in office, we’re including him, particularly since he’s become somewhat infamous the past couple of weeks (and you never know what deal may have been made with regard to his nomination).

Republican House Turncoats

UPDATE: The New York Times has some great infographics on the climate change bill.
8 Republicans voted for the climate change bill that just passed the House. We will be showcasing them in the upcoming week. None of them deserve reelection for voting for this completely unconstitutional bill.

Gary Ackerman

oday we’re presenting Gary Ackerman for not being reelected. This former school teacher and newspaper publisher has had an interesting career. He’s been involved in baby AIDS legislation, the federal family leave act, and other populist lawmaking. But 26 years. That’s the real issue.

Edolphus “Ed” Towns

Former social worker Edolphus “Ed” Towns has been in congress a long time. 26 years. 26 years of working for special projects. The short list appears to have mostly projects that contradict the 10th Amendment, but they’re still “good” things. Right?

Kirsten Gillibrand

She was appointed by New York governor David Patterson to take the newly appointed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s vacated Senate seat. Like the other appointed senators, she can’t be reelected to her senate seat. But, she will have served in office an entire term, making her elegible for out campaign to not reelect anyone.

Chuck Shumer

Charles Ellis “Chuck” Schumer has represented New York since 1999. Prior to that, he was a representative for New York’s 9th, 10th and 16th districts. He’s been a “public servant” since 1981, 28 years. Sure, only 2 terms as a Senator, but his career is not a public sector one. He’s been there so long, he has forgotten what the “regular” people care about.

Charlie Rangel

Charlie Rangel makes up for his very small geographic district by serving there for a really really long time. This 19 term representative is currently being investigated by the House Ethics Committee for campaign, housing, tax issues among other allegations.
