California Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack

Mary Bono Mack won riding on the coat tails of her famous deceased husband Sonny Bono. She’s been an increasing moderate Republican in an increasingly Democratic district (the district still leans Republican, just less so with each passing election).
But Mary’s positions on the issues aren’t what get our attention. It’s that she’s served more terms than is reasonable. She’s served more than one. The other item, although not as disconcerting to us at TfTL as her multiple terms, is that she voted for the recent climate bill in spite of great opposition from the majority of her constituents.* She didn’t represent them or the values of her party. Of course, independence is good to a point. In this case, she joined the lemmings and ran off the cliff.**
