Maryland Congressman Steny Hoyer
If every member pledged to not vote for it if they hadn’t read it in its entirety, I think we would have very few votes…
July 8, 2009 – Hoyer told CNSNews.com at his regular weekly news conference.
Steny Hoyer is the House Majority Leader for the Democrats. This attorney (who’s served in elected office for 32 of his 69 years, almost all consecutively) has the ignoble job of getting his party to all vote together and support the agenda of the Speaker.
Steny Hoyer, like most of the House, is a great example of why we need term limits. He thinks being a member of congress is a career choice. He has proved valuable to his party in helping raise funds for incumbent reelection campaigns. But what have his major contributions been? Besides getting more power for himself and his party (which are intertwined), it’s hard to know.
