North Carolina Senator Richard Burr
We’ve coined a term here at TfTL: serial legislator. A serial legislator is defined as someone who goes from elected office to elected office in an attempt to “rise” to greater levels of power.
North Carolina’s Senator Richard Burr has started his serial legislator career. He started with a couple of unsuccessful House campaigns. He finally one and was regularly reelected. Seeing an opportunity to “climb the ladder”, he successfully ran for John Edward’s vacated seat.
Let’s nip this in the bud. We don’t need serial legislators in the halls of the Senate. Let’s make sure that Richard Burr sees he’s becoming one and decides to not run because he’s going to be successfully challenged in the Republican primary!
