Maine Senator Olympia Snow
UPDATE – 10/13/09 : Olympia Snow breaks ranks and votes the Backus health care reform bill out of committee. Clearly, she’s not only out of step with her party, but the majority of the US population and most likely her own constituents.
Last week (Feb. 13, 2009), three republican senators broke with their party and “negotiated” with the democrats to help pass the massive $800,000,000,000 “stimulus” package. For their courage we present their names for you to not re-elect. Three term republican Senator Olympia Snow was one of them.
Do Not Re-Elect Senator Olympia Snow

Dear Ms. Snow,
I don’t know if I have come to the right place to email you, but I will give it a go.
This last week I tried to trade in my 16 year old car. I have driven it right up until the last few weeks, when it would not pass inspection, and I do not have the money to have it repaired. I had heard of the “Cash for Clunkers” rebate and it seemed like a perfect solution to my car problem. However, I do not qualify because I have lost the Title to this car (I have moved 3 times in 16 years) and when I tried to get a copy from the State I was told that I could not get one because “they” do not replace Titles on cars that old.
It is a stipulation of “Cash for Clunkers” that you have a copy of your Title.
Now, this seems like a grave injustice and a severe oversight on either the State of Maine’s part or the Federal rebate program and who ever set the stipulations up. I feel this is very unfair and certainly not a fair way to spend my taxpayer money on a stimulus package, perhaps even downright discriminatory.
I am very disappointed and hope you will be able to get this message in time to help me and perhaps other people out there in the same situation.
I teach school at Lubec Consolidated School. I hope you can help me please.
Sincerely yours,
Candace O’Brien
Candace,
You will not be able to sell or trade your clunker anywhere without the title- this is not unique to the cash for clunkers progam. Go see your county clerk and file for a title search and you may be able to get a new one. that is your best bet.
