Tom Coburn

As we near the end of our listing of 2010 senate incumbents, we remind everyone that the way to defeat an incumbent is at the local party level. The local GOP needs to go to the state GOP and let them know they won’t receive grassroots support for the incumbent candidate. This message will help funnel funds and energy towards the local challenger and help the incumbent see it might be in his best interest to step down and endorse the challenger.

Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn
Senator Coburn is a rare non-attorney in the Senate. He’s also one of the few who has is occupation listed a “politician” (he’s also a physician). It is well known that our stance at TfTL is that anyone who thinks elected office is a career needs to be sent packing (as does anyone who has shown by their actions they think elected office is a career).
Senator Dr. Coburn also has been diagnosed by TfTL with early stages of serial legislator. He served as a member of the House of Representatives for three terms prior to being elected to the Senate. We’re hoping to cure him in 2010 of this terminal disease (not terminal for him, but for the country).
