The Case for Term Limits – Damage Control

The Case for Term Limits – Damage Control

October 7, 2009 by · 1 Comment

Virtually every member of the Senate or House who has ethics “issues” (to put it lightly) has served for many terms. They are career politicians. Some have been in some form of public office for most of their adult life. Let’s limit the damage they can do.

The Case for Term Limits – Turn Over

The Founding Fathers knew what they were doing and created a fantastic system. It is our arrogance, or more to the point, the arrogance of our elected officials that think they have a better system.

The health care town hall meetings have provided lots of fodder for those who are concerned about their representatives. New York Congressman Eric Massa has added to the pile with his on camera admission that he would vote against the interests of the voters in his district.

Town Hall of Shame

August 11, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

With the recent protests, we’ve decided to post up a Town Hall of Shame. We’ll try and update videos from various town hall meetings with representatives who can’t actually defend the health care bills and choose to attack those who would question potential policy.

David Scott

Nothing gets up the ire of a congressman more than being challenged on their positions. I’ve personally seen this when I’ve sent letters to my representatives. Watch this video of Congressman David Scott not being able to deal with being challenged.

A Modest Proposal

Health care is in the news. It can’t help but be. President Obama has pledged to talk about it until congress does something. We’re in a crisis, we’re told. Something has to be done now. For the moment, let’s accept the false premise the federal government should do anything about health care. For the moment, let’s agree that something must be done.

Dave Reichert

Dave Reichert is not an attorney but rather a career law enforcement officer. He’s one of the few never to graduate from college. His law enforcement career was relatively distinguished.

But it’s his reelection that we’re most concerned about. He needs to be reminded that being a member of congress isn’t a career, like law enforcement, but an opportunity to serve. It’s time for him to step down. It’s time to elect someone else to Washington’s 8th district.

John McHugh

This post for John McHugh may not be needed for very long, as he was nominated to the Secretary of the Army by President Barack Obama. But, since he’s still in office, we’re including him, particularly since he’s become somewhat infamous the past couple of weeks (and you never know what deal may have been made with regard to his nomination).

Frank LoBiondo

Frank LoBiondo isn’t an attorney (yeay!). But he is a serial politician. He’s served on a county board and in the New Jersey General Assembly. But his continual effort to get to a “higher” office is what we’re concerned about. He lists himself as a small business owner, but can anyone really run a small business from Washington? He’s also one of the Republican gang of “8″ who voted for the climate bill.

Leonard Lance

Up until the climate change vote, Leonard Lance wasn’t really considered a “moderate” Republican. I’m sure he’s been put on the RINO list, now. But our objects primarily rests on him thinking politics should be a career. Do not Reelect Leonard Lance.
