TfTL is beginning a series of Thursday Term Limit Tasks. Each week a new action item will be posted.
In order for us to have any success at implementing voter based term limits (that is we vote out incumbents) it is important that our efforts begin early. It starts with individuals who want to really make a difference. Real political change comes when we decide to act.
Task #1: Who’s Running?
Today’s task is to find out who is currently in office and who is running for reelection.
If you don’t know, you can’t act to find suitable replacement candidates.
It’s easy to find out who your national elected officials. The federal government has set up a web site (click on the word “web site” to get there) to do just that. In fact, they’ve also included a link to help you find your state legislators.
It’s a little more of a challenge to find your local officials. Our search box is tied to Google’s search engine. Try putting in the name of the jurisdiction and title (New York Alderman) and you should get some results.
After you’ve found your elected officials, the one who shouldn’t be reelected, post them on TfTL.
That’s today’s Term Limiting task.
Oh, yeah, while you’re at it, buy a shirt.
